New Clients

If you are considering seeing one of our counselors, you may reach out to our office through the contact form on this website or by calling our office at 352-554-5358. At present, our office manager, Tom, is onsite from 9 AM until Noon daily. But he will call you back if you submit a contact form or leave a voicemail. Tom is happy to answer your questions to help you determine which counselor might be the best fit for your counseling need, answer questions about fees, and facilitate appointment scheduling.
All new clients will be assigned a new client portal where you can complete the intake documents, securely upload a credit card for fee payments, and input insurance information that will be included on the superbill sent to you for your own submission to your insurance company for any eligible insurance reimbursement.

When the counseling need is couples counseling, the couple will share a client portal, and each will complete the Confidential New Client Intake Form. After completing the required demographic information, new clients may provide as little or as much detail as they wish on this form.

Understanding clients in the context of their individual and relationship histories helps a counselor make maximum use of session time, so you are encouraged to provide as much detail in the confidential questionnaire as you feel comfortable. It is helpful if new clients can complete the Confidential New Client Intake Form at least two days prior to their initial appointment to ensure your counselor’s opportunity to read it in advance of the first session.

Dr. Figley’s fee for each 50-60-minute session is $170. He is out-of-network with all insurance plans but will provide you with an insurance superbill documenting your paid visits. You can upload the superbill to your insurer’s website, or submit it by fax, email, or mail, to initiate any reimbursement to which you may be entitled.

Dr. Figley’s interns’ fees are established based on where they are in the pre-licensing process and are published under their bios. Intern counseling fees are not eligible for insurance reimbursement. For information about fees and how insurance is handled for the other licensed counselors at Figley Counseling & Associates you can reach out to our office manager—who can put you in direct contact with the counselor you are considering.

Frequency of sessions will be determined jointly by counselor and client, weighing such factors as the nature of the problems, the client’s motivation to make progress on out-of-session tasks, available session time, and the financial burden incurred by fees. Session frequency and the total number of sessions necessary to achieve client goals can be significantly reduced for clients motivated to pursue supplemental reading and homework assignments outside of session.

We welcome you to a community of counselors and interns who love one another and are passionate about helping others. May you find this to be a growing and healing experience!
