Meet David
Hi, my name is David. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been counseling in the Gainesville area since 2010 when I started the internship portion of my Masters program. For the next six years, I juggled part-time school and licensure requirements, full time work as a teacher, and full time family, now with five growing children.

I earned my counseling license in 2016 and have been practicing privately ever since. I now have offices in Gainesville and Ocala, where my family and I recently moved. Sound familiar? Juggling multiple things at once to get ahead, or just get by? Being shifted around by the tides of life? Overcoming personal struggle, connecting with loved ones, and supporting those important to you is what I do. Having experienced extreme anxiety and depression through my teen and early adult years, I’ve been in the trenches and am so glad there were counselors, mentors, and friends to help me through it.
Counseling is truly an adventure, with ups and downs and all arounds, but the risk is well worth the reward. I walk alongside and work with you to gain greater insight into the obstacles you face, the strengths you already have, and to learn new strategies to help you grow upward. I work with individuals ages 16 and up, couples, and families (all ages welcome). I specialize in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, anger and stress management, men’s issues, pre-marital/marital, and parenting. Take care, I look forward to meeting you soon.
