Dr. Figley works mostly with couples and adult men who have moved past the young adult stage. But our practice has a wealth of choices for young adults seeking counseling: 

Our licensed counselor, David Reed, is quite seasoned with this age group. Our intern, Jason Owenby, as the father of young adult men, brings a very helpful perspective. Our intern, Noah Gotro, brings the perspective of a young adult himself—who has benefited from his own counseling journey and his graduate counseling program.

Our licensed counselor, Deborah Garren, brings the wisdom of a mother and grandmother in counseling college students and other young adult women. Our interns, Brianna Garrett and Marissa Carter, are exceptional in bonding with young adult women and providing a safe and nurturing environment conducive to healing and growth.

Although young adults often prefer a counselor of their same gender, there are times when an opposite-sex counselor is preferred—particularly if the need is to process attachment wounds with an opposite-sex parent.
